Giving Threshold

Generosity without a threshold becomes either paralysis or recklessness.

Giving Threshold — Decide Before Crisis

Principle

We give from planned surplus first. We do not endanger dependents.

What We Can Give Readily

  • ·Food, water, hygiene basics
  • ·Time, labor, skills
  • ·Space, if safe

What We Do Not Give Away

  • ·Prescription medications for dependents
  • ·Critical heating supplies for vulnerable members
  • ·Last reserves that would leave our household unable to function

Priority for Aid

The vulnerable first. Quietly, with dignity.

Coordination

  • ·Who we contact first
  • ·How we distribute calmly
  • ·When we stop giving (the threshold)

The threshold is not selfishness. It is the line that keeps your generosity sustainable.
