Week 8·Continuity

Water, Warmth, and the Boring Essentials

Doctrine: Chapter 8 — The Household Plan

The Claim

Food gets the attention. Water, warmth, hygiene, and sanitation are where households actually fall apart. These degrade dignity faster than hunger does.

This Week's Action

Shore up one non-food system to the continuity level (2–3 months).

Pick the one your household is weakest on: Water, Heat/Cooling, Hygiene, or Medicine.

Water: Do you have a primary and backup method? Have you thought about sanitation water?

Heat/Cooling: Do you have a redundant plan? Is it safe — no carbon monoxide risks?

Hygiene: Deeper supplies of soap, sanitation basics? A simple sickness protocol?

Medicine: Refill buffer for prescriptions? Common-issue supplies? A plan for constrained care access?

Choose one. Bring it to sufficiency, not perfection.

Reflection

Which of these systems have I been ignoring because they're unglamorous? What would it feel like to lose them for a month?
